Le projet Marnéo, porté par le SIAM (Syndicat Intercommunal d’Assainissement de Marne-la-Vallée) et opéré par SAUR, vise à doter la station d’épuration de Saint-Thibault-des-Vignes d’une unité performante de méthanisation des boues. L’ambition du projet est de transformer un déchet issu de l’assainissement en une ressource renouvelable injectée dans les réseaux.

The Marnéo project, led by SIAM (the Intermunicipal Sanitation Syndicate of Marne-la-Vallée) and operated by SAUR, aims to equip the Saint-Thibault-des-Vignes wastewater treatment plant with a high-performance sludge anaerobic digestion unit. The goal is to convert a by-product of wastewater treatment into a renewable resource injected into the gas networks.

Le SIAM, Syndicat Intercommunal d’Assainissement de Marne-la-Vallée, mène un projet de méthanisation des boues issues de la station d’épuration de Saint-Thibault-des-Vignes. Ce projet est porté par Marnéo, la société de projet créée par SAUR, et s’inscrit pleinement dans la transition énergétique du territoire.

Dans ce cadre, et suite à un appel à projets lancé par GRDF sur la valorisation du bioCO₂ biogénique, le SIAM et Marnéo étudient la meilleure manière de valoriser le CO₂ généré par l’unité de méthanisation. L’étude technico-économique retenue dans cet appel à projets, pilotée par Marnéo et cofinancée par GRDF, vise à identifier le scénario le plus pertinent pour transformer ce CO₂ en ressource utile.

Deux voies principales sont analysées : la production de méthane de synthèse via une méthanation in situ, qu’elle soit catalytique ou biologique, en recherchant les synergies possibles avec les autres procédés du site et avec l’incinérateur voisin ; et la commercialisation directe du CO₂ sur un marché local. La société Arkolia Énergies, spécialiste des solutions d’énergies renouvelables, apporte son expertise sur la voie biologique, particulièrement innovante.

L’étude comprend également une analyse des risques, des opportunités et l’élaboration de business plans pour chaque solution.

The SIAM, the Intermunicipal Sanitation Syndicate of Marne-la-Vallée, is carrying out a project involving the anaerobic digestion of sludge from the Saint-Thibault-des-Vignes wastewater treatment plant. The project is led by Marnéo, the project company created by SAUR, and is fully aligned with the region’s energy transition.

As part of this initiative, and following a call for projects launched by GRDF on the recovery of biogenic CO₂, SIAM and Marnéo are studying the best way to make use of the CO₂ generated by the anaerobic digestion unit. The technical and economic study selected in this call for projects, led by Marnéo and co-financed by GRDF, aims to identify the most relevant scenario for converting this CO₂ into a useful resource.

Two main pathways are being analyzed: the production of synthetic methane via in-situ methanation, either catalytic or biological, by seeking possible synergies with other processes on-site and with the neighboring incinerator; and the direct commercial use of CO₂ on a local market. Arkolia Énergies, a specialist in renewable energy solutions, provides expertise on the biological pathway, which is particularly innovative.

The study also includes an assessment of risks and opportunities and the development of business plans for each option.
