SLOP Normandie est une PME spécialisée dans la récupération et le traitement des déchets issus des navires faisant escale dans les ports. Acteur essentiel de la protection de l’environnement maritime, l’entreprise souhaite franchir une nouvelle étape en construisant un bateau neuf équipé d’une motorisation hybride fonctionnant au biométhane, afin de poursuivre ses missions de manière plus durable et exemplaire.

SLOP Normandie is an SME specializing in the recovery and treatment of waste from ships calling at ports. A key player in protecting the marine environment, the company now aims to take a further step by building a new vessel equipped with a hybrid engine running on biomethane, in order to carry out its missions in a more sustainable and exemplary way.

Souhaitant renouveler l’un de ses bateaux de collecte d’ici 2025, SLOP Normandie explore aujourd’hui une motorisation au biométhane afin de rendre son activité plus vertueuse et cohérente avec son cœur de métier. Après avoir évalué l’électrique, trop limité en autonomie, puis l’hydrogène, encore trop coûteux et dépendant des subventions, l’entreprise a choisi le BioGNV, une technologie robuste, mature et compatible avec sa chaîne de valeur, puisqu’elle collecte elle-même des déchets destinés à la méthanisation.

Une première étude, financée par SLOP Normandie et menée par 2C Consulting, a confirmé la faisabilité technique et économique d’un bateau innovant, performant et optimisé dès sa conception. L’objectif est de remplacer plusieurs unités existantes par un bateau neuf double-coque d’environ 100 mètres, propulsé au biométhane. Cette approche permet d’éviter les limites du rétrofit et d’obtenir un niveau supérieur de performance, de sécurité et de conformité réglementaire.

SLOP Normandie fait partie des trois lauréats de l'édition 2022 de l’appel à projets  « Décarbonation du transport fluvial et maritime côtier ».

Aiming to renew one of its collection vessels by 2025, SLOP Normandie is now exploring a biomethane engine in order to make its activity more responsible and consistent with its core business. After assessing electric propulsion, which offered insufficient range, and then hydrogen, still too costly and dependent on subsidies, the company chose BioNGV, a robust and mature technology compatible with its value chain, since it collects waste itself that is sent for anaerobic digestion.

A first study, financed by SLOP Normandie and carried out by 2C Consulting, confirmed the technical and economic feasibility of an innovative, high-performance vessel optimized from the design phase onward. The goal is to replace several existing units with a new double-hull vessel of around 100 meters, powered by biomethane. This approach avoids the constraints of retrofitting and delivers a higher level of performance, safety and regulatory compliance.
